While I'm ferociously angry, lets leave it at this; before you try to use the Bible as a source for your political views, read it first. It very clearly states that God does NOT condone murder (in the womb, or out), does NOT condone homosexuality and it does NOT condone turning our nation into a growth-stunted civilization eternally sucking on the government's tit, unable to provide for itself, dependent on everyone around them.
You're welcome to have your own beliefs, nor are you required to believe the Bible; but if you're going to believe it, choose to believe it in it's entirety - not just the parts you like.
As a Christian you cannot, I repeat CANNOT, have the world and have heaven. One foot in, one foot out will not work.
So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
Revelation 3:16
At some point you have to make a choice. You can be in the world, calling yourself a Christian, "accepting" the things of the world, warping the Bible to fit your own views - you can do that. You can even do all that with the intention of bringing more people to Jesus, with the intention of not hurting anybody's feelings. You know what? Jesus hurt some feelings. Jesus didn't "win" people over by being accepting of their conditions, but rather by offering them a path away from their sinful nature and showing them that they don't have to live that way. As a Christian, when you "accept" someone's sin, you are minimizing what Christ did on the cross, and encouraging a lost soul to continue on the path they're on, rather than showing them how to live a redeemed, changed life. I would rather hurt some feelings and bring someone to Christ, than live a lukewarm life, telling someone that their sin is okay, only to watch them go to hell.
Do you realize how real this is? Do you realize that hell is a real place and that we are ALL on a journey there until we follow Christ? We don't start out our lives heading to heaven, and then "sin so much" or "make God so mad" that we end up destined to hell. We are born as sinners, destined to hell, and it's ONLY when we accept the salvation that Christ has to offer, and live our lives according to the Bible that, by grace, our eternal destination changes for us to be with the Father. We spend our lives on earth telling people that "it's okay" WHEN IT'S NOT OKAY. I would rather spend my time on earth being rejecting than making sure no one's feelings got hurt. Yes, Jesus was a friend of sinners, yes, we should be dedicating our lives to spending time ministering to the lost. That does not mean we spend our time condoning their actions. Jesus said "Go, and sin no more", not "It's okay, everyone is different and I know this is a part of who you are". Does anyone like being told that they're sinning? No. I sure don't! When God heart-checks me, or a God-serving friend comes to me concerned about something I've done or am doing, it hurts! But I am thankful that I have people in my life willing to tell me "that's not okay". People that are BOLD enough to believe the Bible in it's entirety, and BRAVE enough to share that truth with others, even when it's "offensive" or "politically incorrect".
We need more Christians that are brave enough to take the Bible for ALL that it says, and to not try to warp it to modern beliefs. Abortion is NOT OKAY. Sexual impurity is NOT OKAY. Divorce is NOT OKAY. Drunkenness is NOT OKAY. Hatred for others is NOT OKAY. Inconvenient for you? Take it up with God. These guidelines He's set for our lives are not debatable, they are black and white, and you choose daily which side you're going to be on. Don't think that because you don't do these things that they don't affect you. Are you encouraging your friend's divorce? Are you "liking" the Facebook pictures of your drunk college crew? Are you supporting the sexual impurity of those in your life? As a Christian it is incredibly dangerous to live a luke-warm life. We serve a black and white God who knows where He stands, and He's calling His people to stand with Him - not to dip a toe in the water when it's feeling nice, but to be all in for Christ. He's calling warriors, He's calling the brave and the bold. He's calling those who are willing to stand up for His word, not those who are crudely dissecting His holy word to make it more convenient for the 21st century. I'm ashamed of the "christians" that so quickly "revamp" the Word to better fit into their lives. Not only is it wrong, but you are missing out on the beauty of Christ when you try to make Him in your image, instead of becoming like Him.
So are you ready for the good news?
There's grace. There's forgiveness. There's mercy. How many people need that? If I could insert the little iPhone emoticon hand-raise, I would, because the Lord knows that I need forgiveness daily, I need grace daily, I need mercy daily - I need HIM daily. The Lord offers us a chance to change. He says "Come as you are", but never says "Stay as you are". If you're a Christian, but you haven't seen a change in yourself from your old ways, then you have not been touched by the Spirit. When the Holy Spirit dwells in you, you can't help but be different! You can't help but tell everyone, anyone who will listen, about how good your God is! We all have sinned. None of us are deserving of grace, none of us deserve heaven, nor could we ever do anything to to deserve Jesus. But because of God's goodness, we have a second chance. I am going to spend my life sharing Jesus and sharing His truths - not whats convenient for me, or what makes others feel okay about their sins, or whats comfortable for everyone. I'm sharing Jesus: raw, beautiful, with no gray areas. He deserves to be shared with others in His entirety, because He is entirely good.
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as
a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His
righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins
that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
